USPS — Bringing Presents to a Tree Near You
When you can’t be home for Christmas, you can count on the U.S. Postal Service. We strive to achieve our core mission daily — to sort, transport and deliver letters, postcards and packages to homes across the nation.
The holidays are a time when this essential effort gains even more urgency, in a dash through the snow and mistletoe towards Christmas Day.
Your friendly mail carrier is part of a huge network that includes the retail associate you will meet at the counter of your local Post Office, but also consists of many other behind-the-scenes employees. We work around the clock and around the calendar creating a vast, humming network with a sole goal.
The hearts and minds of postal employees such as truckers, sorting facility machine operators, forklift operators and mechanics are accustomed to putting their all into this task.
It’s a long road, but we promise, it is one we are well trained and prepared to navigate.
In most employee households, we are prepared to give up our holidays so our customers can have a very happy holiday. This is part of our organizational DNA, so to speak.
Gifts glide quickly through the vast grid of planes, trucks and buildings into the caring hands of postal elves. We deposit these dreamed-of treasures upon the doorstep of your loved ones, bringing the happiest of holidays, even when we can’t be together.
If you can’t make it home for the holiday, what could be better than receiving a handwritten note or homemade goodies? On Christmas Eve you will find these presents by the tree, to ease a bit of that longing to be with the ones you love most.
